Greetings from staff and students at Jefferson Middle School, home of the CUBS!

We are proud of our students and the work that they accomplish here each day. We invite family
and community members to visit JMS and sample life from a middle-schooler’s perspective. Our
web page has been developed to give you a taste of that life and to answer questions about our school.

Please stop by our school soon to check out our programs, to volunteer for a job that might otherwise
be left undone, or simply to visit and get to know our students and staff. We appreciate your interest
and value your support.

“At JMS we build a community of respect, responsibility, and safety where minds and hearts are
open and all share a vision of success now and throughout life.”

Respectfully yours,
The Staff and Students of Jefferson Middle School

Our school has adopted a mission statement that summarizes our overall goals for students as well as staff. Through the process of creating this mission statement, we have modified JMS school expectations. Students at JMS are also being trained in a violence prevention program called "Second Step." We want JMS to be a safe and positive learning environment for all.

We are dedicated to providing an appropriate education leading to academic success in a safe and positive learning environment. We will foster the development of students with the expectation that they be positive members of society by:

Taking responsibility for their actions
Showing respect for selves and others
Honoring diversity
