Jefferson School District Employment
COACHING Application
Jobs Opportunities:
Application Process:
Applications for classified positions may be obtained by clicking the link above, contacting
the School District Administrative Office at 541-327-3337 ext.
240, or stopping by the District Office at 1328 N. Second Street (next door to the Middle
School). All applications will be reviewed by an
interview team prior to interviews. All applicants
will be notified of selection or rejection. Fluent bilingual ability (written and oral) in English and Spanish is preferred for all positions in the district. All licensed staff and instructional assistants must meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act as it defines Highly Qualified employees. For more information about training and testing to meet the Highly Qualified status, contact the Willamette Education Service District or Oregon School Employees Association.
According to Oregon law, all
contract employees of the District are required to complete the Oregon
Department of Education Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification process
at the time they are offered a contract for employment. The ODE Verification
form is to be completed and notarized at the School District office where we
have a Notary Public on staff. The actual fingerprints are not done in the
District. Information regarding locations for fingerprinting will be provided
when the paperwork is completed. Charges for the actual fingerprinting vary with
the agency providing the service. The applicant is responsible for the cost of the fingerprinting process. The Department of Education's cost for processing the Verification form
is payable by cash, check, or, if hired, payroll deduction. The entire verification
process takes approximately three to six months. Once the Verification form has
been completed and the fee paid, the individual may begin work in the
District. If the verification comes back with a notation that the individual has
a criminal record, employment with the District will be terminated immediately
and the individual will be informed of the process to clear their record. If the
individual has completed the Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification
process in another Oregon school district within two years, the results of that process will be
accepted and the individual will complete the Criminal History Verification of
Applicants form.
